MUSIC UP AND UNDER THROUGHOUT
SFX: mouse-clicks and sigh of relief.
DAUGHTER HUMMING AS SHE WORKS AT COMPUTER.
DAUGHTER: (to herself): Yes! Done!
(yelling upstairs) Hey Dad, up for a movie, it’s on me!
SFX: Walking down stairs
DAD: (skeptical): What happened, a record company call with a big contract?
DAUGHTER(exasperated): Da-aad! I just did my taxes and I’m getting a refund. Be nice and I’ll buy you dinner, too.
DAD: So you think you’re getting that money today.
DAUGHTER: (sarcastically): See this? It’s called a computer. I e-filed my return and signed up for direct deposit, so of course, I’ll get it today.
DAD: OK, Miss Diva, time to go to irs.gov.
DAUGHTER: Da-aad!
DAD: Now, click on where’s my refund. See? It says that 72 hours after you e-file you can start checking the status of your refund. It can take as few as ten days to process your tax return.
DAUGHTER: Guess you’ll be waiting awhile for your movie, know-it-all.
DAD: How about we go--my treat. But I pick the movie. Something musical. We can sing along. You know, back in the day I could carry a tune.
DAUGHTER: Da-aad!
ANNCR: irs.gov. It’s the best tax tip of all.
