VITA Sites - Radio PSA text script
MUSIC UP AND UNDER THROUGHOUT
SFX: Shop Bell as Door Opens
OLDER MAN: Hi, Louise.
Shop Lady: Hey, Mr. Thompson.
MAN: Here’s my good suit. Uh, can I have it cleaned and pressed by Wednesday?
LADY: Oh, got a big date?
MAN: Well, an important one anyway. I’m volunteering to do tax returns at IRS VITA sites.
LADY: Makes sense. You were a CPA for years.
MAN: Yeah, now I have the chance to help people who don’t make much money, senior citizens like me, and military folks get their tax returns done for free.
LADY: Well, I’m not exactly making a fortune working here.
MAN: Well, why not go to irs.gov to find the nearest VITA site and see if you qualify for free tax prep. Most families making less than 50 thousand dollars do.
LADY: irs.gov. Got it.
MAN: Oh yeah, and while you’re there, print out the list of things to bring with you, like your social security card, W-2, last year’s return, and so on.
LADY: So, Wednesday?
MAN: For my suit? Or your taxes?
LADY: Both.
(They chuckle.)
ANNCR: irs.gov. From VITA sites to vital information, it’s the best tax tip of all.
