Small Tax-Exempts Annual Reporting Reminder (ASL) - YouTube video text script
Hi, I’m Thomas and I work for the IRS.
Tax-exempt organizations must file a Form 990 with the IRS every year.
If they don’t file this form for three consecutive years, they will lose their tax-exempt status.
For small organizations, those that make $50,000 or less, all they have to file is an easier form called the 990-N or e-Postcard online.
For most small exempt organizations, the e-Postcard is due in mid-May.
We here at the IRS want to help you comply with the law and keep your valuable tax exemption.
That’s why we have a lot of resources online such as our Form 990-N, the e-Postcard webpage and the webpage of an exempt organization’s lifecycle.
To learn more about Form 990-N and how to file it go to www.IRS.gov/charities.
