Correction to Instructions for Form 706, United States Estate (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return (Rev. August 2012) -- 12-Oct-2012
If you downloaded the Instructions for Form 706 (Rev. August 2012) before October 12, please note the following.
In the initial release, the Line 7 Worksheet (page 7), contained incorrect references to Worksheet TG on lines 2 and 4. These references could have led taxpayers to erroneous results and have been corrected. Also, clarifying changes were made to the Table of Estimated Values (page 16), columns (h), (k), and (l) and the footnotes to the Line 7 Worksheet, the Table of Basic Exemption (Exclusion) Amounts (page 8), and to the instructions and note for column (i) of the Line 7 Worksheet (page 8).
The corrected version of the Instructions for Form 706 is available.
