IRS Employee Emergency News

This page will be updated with information and instructions for IRS employees in the event of a major emergency that has widespread geographic or business impact. 

For information on local office closures, IRS employees should call the 24/7 Emergency Hotline866-743-5748, select option 3, then put in your state's two-letter abbreviation or select # for a list of campus locations. For TTY access (Federal Relay Service), call 800-877-8339.

All IRS offices will be closed on Friday, May 24, 2013, due to federal budget cuts caused by sequestration. With the exception of pre-notified personnel, employees should not report to work and no employees should perform IRS work activities on this day. We will resume normal operations the next business day.
