When should I use Free File Fillable Forms? Use it if:

  • Your AGI is greater than $57,000
  • You are comfortable filling out forms and reading tax form instructions
  • The tax forms you need are supported

What is so different about Free File Fillable Forms?

  • It’s the electronic equivalent of paper forms that you can e-file
  • There are no prompts to help you through tax return preparation
  • You will have to rely on tax instruction booklets publications

What should I know before I get started?

  • This program is for federal returns only
  • There are limitations on what you can enter or do with the forms
  • Most, but not all forms are supported
  • There is a tutorial that will assist you with creating an account and navigating through the program

What do I do when I need help with the program?

  • First, consult the Searchable FAQ Document. Type in a key word or phrase to find answers quickly.
  • Additional assistance is available through email. It generally takes five (5) to seven (7) business days to receive a response. If your issue is about a rejected return, please copy and paste the entire reason for the rejection in the email.
