Can I Deduct My Mortgage Related Expenses?

Can I deduct my Mortgage Interest, Points, Mortgage Insurance Premiums or other Mortgage Related Expenses: Depending on certain circumstances, you may be able to deduct amounts you paid for Mortgage interest, Points, Mortgage Insurance Premiums and other Mortgage Related Expenses.  These amounts may reduce the amount of income on which you are taxed.


Information You Will Need:

  • Your and  your spouse's filing status and citizenship status
  • Basic income information including amounts of your income
  • An estimated total (if applicable) of the amounts paid for mortgage interest, points and/or mortgage insurance premiums (normally reported to you on Form 1099-G)


Estimated Completion Time: 12 minutes. However: 5 minutes of inactivity will end the interview and you will be forced to start over.
