Taxpayer Assistance Centers
IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TAC) are your source for personal tax help when you believe your tax issue cannot be handled online or by phone, and you want face-to-face tax assistance. Taxpayer Assistance Centers are closed for all Federal Holidays.
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Extended Hours
The Internal Revenue Service is opening its doors at locations nationwide to prepare income tax returns for taxpayers eligible for EITC. For those persons who are unable to seek assistance during the work week, these offices will open on three Saturdays (January 30th, February 6th and February 20th) from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.. Here are the participating offices and additional information on who qualifies for EITC. (Please note, some offices scheduled for Saturday service may not be open due to inclement weather.) Also, some offices will provide additional Saturday service dates or extended hours of service. Here is the information for those participating offices.
On-line Appointments for Preparation of Federal Tax Return
If you qualify to have the IRS prepare your 2009 Federal Tax Return, you may be able to schedule an appointment on-line. Select offices are participating in a program to allow taxpayers to schedule appointments via the internet.
