Register for e-services

The application to become an Authorized e-file Provider is available online through e-Services. This is the quickest and easiest way to do your application. First, you must register for e-Services, a group of web-based products for tax professionals.

The goal of our registration process is to verify your identity. We compare the information you provide with information from the Social Security Administration and your prior year tax return. If the information you gave us matches our data, we will send you a confirmation in U.S. mail. To complete the registration process, you must log back into the e-Services website and enter the confirmation code. You must do this within 28 days of your registration submission.

In addition to registration and the online e-file application, e-Services includes four more services. These are Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), Disclosure Authorization, Electronic Account Resolution and Transcript Delivery Service. You'll probably want to learn more about these, which you can do through e-Services.
