2013 Software Developers Conference
The 2013 Software Developers Conference will be held June 25, 2013, at the New Carrollton Federal Building in the Lecture Hall, located at 5000 Ellin Road, Lanham, MD 20706.
This event is designed to provide you with the most up-to-date information relating to the preparation, transmission and processing of electronic returns. This year, the conference will be focused on technical discussions and is best attended by technical representatives that are familiar with and would be involved in working technical aspects of such topics as:
- MeF
- Release 9 – New Forms 94X and 1041
- Form 1040 and Business e-Filed Returns – What’s Ahead
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) – What to Expect/Timeline
- Testing
- XML Standardization – What does it mean? Why are we doing it?
- Identity Theft
- Fraud Initiatives
Conference hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To attend you must register online through June 14, 2013, by sending a message to IRS.SW.CONF@irs.gov with the following information. Pre-registration is required due to security requirements, and no on-site registration will be allowed.

- Title
- Company name
- City and State
As a courtesy, the IRS has made arrangements for blocks of hotel rooms that may be reserved at the government rate. Please reference the IRS Software Developers Conference when making reservations to receive the discounted rate. Cutoff date for the government rates is May 27, 2013.
Due to escort requirements in a federal building, box lunches will be provided at a cost of $6. During check in please indicate a sandwich or salad lunch. Money will be collected at that time.
